Non-domestic gas from 1 September 2026
Under the CRU's non-domestic gas works regulation, which applies from 1 September 2026, regulated gas work in non-domestic buildings — hotels, schools, offices, restaurants and shops among them — has to be carried out by a Registered Gas Installer with the right non-domestic registration, and certified with a Declaration of Conformance. If you manage a premises, it is worth checking that whoever works on your gas is registered for it.

Do you need a non-domestic RGI for gas work in a business?
Yes. Christy is registered for non-domestic gas work. Under the CRU's non-domestic gas works regulation, which applies from 1 September 2026, regulated gas work in non-domestic buildings (hotels, schools, offices, restaurants and shops among them) must be carried out by a Registered Gas Installer with non-domestic registration and certified with a Declaration of Conformance.
